Primary school JIH and Kindergarten Hradec Králové
First, let me tell you a few words about Hradec Králové, where is our primary school located. Hradec Králové is a city located at the confluence of the Labe and Orlice rivers, lies in north-eastern Bohemia, rightly called the „Salon of the Republic“ and „The city of the queens!“. It ranks among the biggest and most important cities in the Czech Republic.
Our primary school joins together Primary school, Special school for pupils with learning malfunction, Special school for pupils with sight disorder, school youth centre and school canteen. Recently there are 420 students in 24 classes. 36 teachers give lessons in our school and 4 educators take care of children in the school centre. Our stuff consists of 12 people and 6 employees work in the canteen.
Our school is an allowance organization with legal subjectivity.
It was put into service in 1968. Total ground area of school covers 20 710m2. School building is made up from 3 teaching pavilions , a craft room pavilion and 2 school gymnasiums. At present we also have 7 special schoolrooms (chemistry, natural history, physics, information technology, craft room, language classroom, music lessons and arts and crafts). We also have 2 computer rooms with 30 computers. Other computers are in staffrooms and in information centre (library). All of them are connected to internet.
Our students learn except their mother tongue (i.e. Czech) either English or German since the third class.
The priorities of our school are
- language training
- interest in science and computer studies ( our students are taught keyboard typing from the sixth class, from 6 th class – the class with extended tuition of informatics
- environmental studies
- support of healthy life style
- individual support to the pupils
- interest in national and international cooperation
- willingness to be involved into new national and international school partnership enviromental studies

- various kinds of hobby groups after lessons – for example ceramics, sport clubs, fipple flute lessons, computers or chorister
